France will create a special fund for 200 million euros, which will allow Ukraine to purchase weapons from French manufacturers for this amount, French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu said, Report informs referring to foreign media.
He noted that France has been a reliable supplier for Ukraine since the beginning of the war.
“We have studied the needs of the Ukrainian army to extend this assistance in 2023,” he said.
In addition, following the results of negotiations with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the minister announced the readiness of Paris to provide Kyiv with Mistral air defense systems to counter cruise missiles and UAVs. Earlier, France handed over to Ukraine two Crotale air defense systems and LRU MLRS.
On December 28, Lecornu arrived in Kyiv in order to discuss issues related to the provision of military support to Ukraine.
