French right-wing party denied leadership in all parliamentary committees

Representatives of the right-wing party of National Rally will not lead any of the parliamentary committees in the National Assembly (lower house of parliament) of France, according to Report, which cites LCI.

The majority of leadership positions were distributed among representatives of the presidential bloc. Out of the eight committees, only two will be headed by representatives of the left, while the remaining six committees were secured by the presidential bloc, Together for the Republic.

It is worth noting that the first round of the early parliamentary elections in France took place on June 30, 2024, with the second round held on July 7. The elections were called in June 2024 when the country's president, Emmanuel Macron, dissolved the National Assembly following the European Parliament elections, in which the French far-right emerged victorious, surpassing the ruling coalition.

The National Rally party became the third-largest faction in the new parliament.
