Germany, France, Poland urge Russia to start dialogue on security in Europe

Berlin, Paris and Warsaw are calling on Moscow to start a substantive dialogue on security issues in Europe and to help defuse tensions in the situation around Ukraine, Report informs citing TASS.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Presidents of France and Poland Emmanuel Macron and Andrzej Duda issued a joint statement following their talks in the format of the so-called Weimar Triangle in Berlin.

“The heads of state and government of the Weimar Triangle (Germany, France and Poland) stressed their commitment to joint efforts to strengthen the European and transatlantic security architecture,” reads the statement.

Thus, Berlin, Paris and Warsaw adhere to the principles enshrined in “various OSCE documents.” It is emphasized that “the three countries will continue to closely coordinate their actions with partners in the EU and allies in NATO in order to ensure peace and stability in the Euro-Atlantic space.”
