At least 36 people have been injured in a powerful storm Haishen in southwestern Japan, Report says, referring to NHK.
The hurricane mostly affected residents of Nagasaki, Kagoshima, and Kumamoto prefectures on Kusu Island. Four people were also recorded hurt in Yamaguchi prefecture, west of Kusu.
Strong winds damaged power lines at night, leaving about 440,000 homes without power in southwestern Japan. Almost 800,000 people received instructions and recommendations from local authorities to leave their homes and stay in special evacuation centers.
Haishen is currently moving at a speed of 40 km / h from Japan to the Korean Peninsula. At the epicenter of the atmospheric event, the wind speed reaches 60 m / s. More than 200 millimeters of rain is expected in southwestern Japan on Monday due to the typhoon.
