Natchez city in the US state of Mississippi will give money to remote workers to move there. With this, the local government plans to grow the population.

Report informs, citing Independent, that 15,000 people currently live in Natchez.

The Shift South program provides up to $2,500 in financial assistance to relocate to the city and $300 a month in the first year of residence to adapt to the new location.

But there are several conditions for moving to Natchez. They must have a job outside the state and work remotely, buy a house in the city for at least $150,000, live there for at least a year, and register their property in Natchez as their main residence place.
