The Moldovan parliament will consider the initiative of the Cabinet of Ministers to extend the state of emergency in the country for another 60 days at its meeting on Monday, July 31.

Report informs, citing tv8.md, that such measures are related to the ongoing war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

The meeting of MPs will be the last in the spring-summer session. The government of Moldova explained the need to extend the state of emergency with the continued risks to the country's national security.

The document on the initiative noted that Moldova is still suffering from hybrid warfare, disinformation, manipulation for military purposes, and inter-ethnic violence:

"At the same time, the war in Ukraine may prevent the supply of natural gas and electricity to Moldova."
