The Dutch government intends to allocate 2.5 billion euros in assistance to Ukraine in 2023, Prime Minister Mark Rutte said on Twitter on Friday after a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Report informs citing TASS.
According to him, as long as the conflict continues, "the Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine." "In 2023, the government allocated 2.5 billion euros for these purposes," Rutte said. "Ukraine can count on the Netherlands."
He specified that the funds will be allocated for the purchase of weapons, the provision of humanitarian assistance, the repair and restoration of infrastructure, diplomatic support and the prosecution of those responsible for war crimes.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands stated that by the end of 2022, the volume of military assistance provided to Ukraine since the start of the Russian special military operation had reached almost 1 billion euros.
