Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi promises to turn his country into a developed state in 25 years, Report informs via Interfax.
Modi voiced the statement on Monday in his speech on the 75th anniversary of the country's independence.
"India will be guided by the ideals of self-reliance and the spirit of international partnership to achieve excellence in science and technology, build up industry and ensure food and energy security," the Indian prime minister said.
Modi stressed that "India should become a developed country in 25 years."
"I call on the youth to dedicate their lives in the next 25 years to the country's development; we must work together for the development of all humanity, and this is the strength of India," the prime minister said.
