Psaki may step down as White House press secretary

In an interview with her former Obama White House colleague David Axelrod on "The Axe Files" podcast, which came out May 6 morning, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that she may leave her post next year, Report informs referring to CNN.

Psaki made clear that she loves the challenge and the responsibility, but she said she talked with the Biden transition team about a roughly one-year term.

"I think it's going to be time for somebody else to have this job, in a year from now or about a year from now," she noted.

Psaki was the official representative of the White House and the State Department in the administration of the 44th US President Barack Obama. In 2020, she served as an advisor to Biden’s transition team. In November of the same year, she was appointed as the White House press secretary.
