Muslim pilgrims will only be able to take part in the Hajj to holy places in Mecca and Medina if they have COVID health insurance, according to the authorities of Saudi Arabia, Report informs referring to TASS.

Health insurance should cover treatment for coronavirus, quarantine if a person contracts the virus, and transportation back home in case of an emergency.

On May 2, it was announced that Saudi Arabia would open borders and lift travel restrictions for its nationals to other countries from May 17. The restrictions were introduced on December 21.
