Sweden has expressed its readiness to strengthen the eastern flank of the North Atlantic Alliance, Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström said, Report informs referring to TASS.
“We are ready to send our soldiers to strengthen the eastern flank of the North Atlantic Alliance, especially in the Baltic states,” the minister said.
He noted that joint military projects with Finland, Norway and Denmark won’t affect the commitments to NATO.
“It was important for us to enter NATO together with Finland. We adhered to all commitments signed in the memorandum with Türkiye, except for the last part, which comes into force on June 1. Now we expect the Turkish and Hungarian parliaments to ratify our entry into the alliance,” he added.
