The Taliban have announced the elimination of the commander of the Islamic State (Daesh) Khorasan branch, responsible for attacks on foreign missions in Afghanistan, the Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said, Report informs via Interfax.
"Last night, during the operation in the Khair Khana neighborhood of Kabul, two members of Daesh were killed. One of them was an important official of the Daesh Khorasan branch - Kari Fateh," he said.
He said Fateh was the ISIS commander responsible for the Kunar province.
"Recent attacks on foreign embassies, mosques and other facilities in Kabul were carried out under his direct supervision," Mujahid added.
He also noted that earlier, the Taliban had eliminated the leader of the IS in the Indian subcontinent, Amin Ahangar, and arrested many IS members, including foreign citizens.
