Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that his country is not opposed to engaging in discussions with representatives of the Russia, but emphasized the need for strengthening Ukraine's position to ensure the talks take place "on equal terms."
Report informs via RBC Ukraine that in a televised marathon, Zelenskyy addressed the issue, saying, "When you talk on this or that platform with the Russians, because partners see them everywhere, we are not against it. We tell them: You want us to talk to the Russians? Then strengthen us. So that we sit at the table as equals, and not with a chair somewhere on the sidelines."
The Ukrainian leader stressed that the United States is not pressuring Ukraine into negotiations with Russia, as it would be wrong and unfair. "If we are pushed to do something, you will all know about it," he said.
Zelenskyy also highlighted that Ukraine has presented its partners with a victory plan, for which there is currently no real alternative. The US is expected to provide feedback on the victory plan in the near future.
"We are waiting for the White House team in Ukraine. We are waiting, and in the near future, they will be here with certain answers," Zelenskyy emphasized.
