Ukraine's external financing needs in 2025 will amount to $41.6 billion, which is $15.6 billion higher than previously expected, European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders said in the European Parliament during hearings as part of an emergency short session to approve the lending mechanism for Ukraine by G7 countries, Report informs.

"Ukraine's funding shortfall in 2025 will reach $41.5 billion, which is $15.6 billion more than previously anticipated," Reynders noted.

G7 countries will allocate 45 billion euros, of which the EU will contribute 35 billion euros. This loan is expected to be repaid using income seized from Russia from reinvesting frozen assets.

He said that the EU has already spent 120 billion euros on Ukraine, including 25 billion euros in macrofinancial support.

"This EU assistance has become a life support system for Ukraine to help it withstand the conditions of military conflict," he added.
