Ukrainian MPs protest against nomination of Ruben Vardanyan for Nobel Prize

Members of the Supreme Rada of Ukraine have expressed protest against Ruben Vardanyan's nomination for Nobel Peace Prize, Yuriy Kamelchuk, member of the Supreme Rada from the ruling party of the Servant of the People, said in an interview with the Eastern European Bureau of Report.

He noted that the European and international community knows very well that Vardanyan finances terrorism both in Russia itself and in neighboring states, including financing terrorism and separatism on the territory of Azerbaijan.

Kamelchuk added that Vardanyan also finances terrorism during the war in Ukraine and therefore cannot to be nominated for the Peace Prize. European deputies and US congressmen spoke about the same thing, advocating sanctions against Vardanyan, and the Nobel Committee should exclude him from the list of candidates once and for all.

It should be noted that 18 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, including Yuriy Kamelchuk, protested against the nomination of separatist Ruben Vardanyan for the Nobel Peace Prize. They sent a corresponding appeal on behalf of the Rada to the Nobel Committee.
