President Biden announced at the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity Leaders’ Summit nearly $485 million in additional humanitarian assistance to respond to the needs of refugees, migrants, and other vulnerable populations across the Western Hemisphere, including those displaced across Latin America and the Caribbean and by the political and economic crisis in Venezuela, Report informs, citing US Department of State.
"The United States is proud to be the largest single donor of humanitarian assistance for the Western Hemisphere. In the past two years, the United States has provided more than $2.1 billion in humanitarian assistance for the region. The United States implements rigorous safeguards against diversion of funds and other risks and works through trusted organizations that ensure assistance reaches those who need it," the press statement reads.
