White House confirms plans to transfer Mi-17 helicopters to Ukraine

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed the US intention to provide Ukraine with five Russian-made Mi-17 helicopters, which were previously intended for transfer to the Afghan military before the radical Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, Report informs, citing The Wall Street Journal.

"We recently notified Congress of our intention to deliver Mi-17 helicopters. So I would not say that the president is waiting. Actions in this direction are clearly visible," she said at a regular briefing for journalists at the White House.
