Ukraine is ready to negotiate with Russia and is looking for compromises, but is not ready to capitulate, Report informs, citing Segodnya.ua that President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with American TV channel ABC News.

When asked if Ukraine is ready to fulfill the Kremlin's stated demands to refuse from a NATO membership, recognize Crimea as part of Russia, and “L/DPR” as independent entities, Zelensky replied: "First, I am ready for dialogue, but we are not ready for capitulation."

As the Ukrainian president explained, the Ukrainians, who elected him, are not ready to surrender. At the same time, Zelensky added that he had lost interest in the issue of Ukraine's possible entry into NATO.

"NATO is not ready to accept Ukraine, the alliance is afraid of contradictory things and confrontation with Russia," he said.

According to Zelensky, Ukraine does not want to be a country that "begs for something on its knees, and we are not going to be such a country, I do not want to be such a president".

"I am talking about security guarantees. I think that we can discuss and find a compromise on the points about the temporarily occupied territories and unrecognized republics, which are not recognized by anyone except the Russian Federation," the president said.

As the Ukrainian president noted, the key question is how people, who want to be part of Ukraine, will live in these territories.
