Akar: About 17M tons of agricultural products already transported via grain corridor

About 17 million tons of agricultural products have been exported through the ‘grain corridor’ from the ports of Ukraine, Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar said, Report informs referring to Anadolu Agency.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted that deliveries from the Russian Federation would also be carried out along the corridor. Turkiye will process grain from Russia and send it to the poor countries of Africa, he noted.

On July 22 in Istanbul, in the presence of Erdogan and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, an agreement was signed on the safe transportation of grain from the ports of Ukraine. The document was signed by representatives of Ukraine, Russia, the UN and Turkiye. The agreement, which is being implemented under the coordination of Turkiye, is aimed at resolving the global food crisis.
