The impunity of the responsible persons of Armenian armed forces in the Karabakh war will become a major threat to the country's security, said Andranik Kocharyan, a member of the ruling My Step party and chairman of the Armenian Parliament's Standing Committee on Defense and Security.
Report informs, citing Armenian media, that according to Kocharyan, Armenian Defense Minister and officials of the armed forces would resign due to mistakes in the Karabakh war:
"They did not resign immediately, showing that they are entirely unaware of what they are doing and where this failure will take us in the future. If these people go unpunished, similar incidents will continue to occur in the army, which will become a serious threat to Armenia's security."
Commenting on the Defense Ministry's statement, Kocharyan emphasized that this power structure should not make fabricated and populist statements. He also noted that the results of the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the April fighting would be published soon. He stressed that the consequences of the April failure are still relevant today.
