The opposition was not invited to the end-of-year reception hosted by Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, scheduled for December 29, Report informs referring to Hraparak newspaper.
“Naturally, we did not receive invitations,” Hayk Mamijanyan, head of the ‘I have the honor’ faction, told the publication.
No one in the Hayastan block received an invitation either. Deputies from the ruling Civil Contract party, however, confirmed to the publication that they were invited.
Hraparak reminds that in the past, not only the opposition, but also public figures, and even representatives of the opposition media were invited to the presidential reception.
In conclusion, the publication cites one of the provisions of the Constitution, which states that the president of the republic must be impartial in the exercise of his powers and be guided solely by national interests.
“Meanwhile, today we have not only a super prime minister with unlimited powers, but also a president who serves the interests of one party,” Hraparak reports.
