Erdoğan: Joint efforts of Turkey and Georgia will make a great contribution to stability in region

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has congratulated Irakli Garibashvili on his appointment as Georgian Prime Minister.

The local Bureau of Report informs, citing the statement from the Georgian government administration, that Erdogan stressed the importance of developing strategic partnership with Georgia in his congratulatory letter.

"I am confident that the strategic alliance and exemplary good neighborly relations between Turkey and Georgia will continue in all areas. I do not doubt that our joint efforts will make a significant contribution to peace, stability, and comprehensive cooperation in the region," the letter reads.

The President also noted that Turkey attaches great importance to Georgia's political stability and territorial integrity.

Erdogan wished the Georgian Prime Minister good health and happiness, and prosperity to the friendly Georgian people.
