The European Commission (EC) announced on Wednesday the allocation of 25 million euros for the development of civil society in Belarus and to support its democratic aspirations, the press service of the European Commission said, Report informs via TASS.
The European Commission has approved funding for the EU4Belarus program at the level of 25 million euros. The program is aimed at supporting civil society, youth, students, university teachers, the document says.
The program will ensure the provision of 450 scholarships to Belarusian civil activists and the invitation of 500 activists to the EU "on exchange".
In 2020, the European Commission discussed the allocation of the Belarusian opposition up to 3 billion euros. This program has not been implemented.
