The restart of the Iran-Azerbaijan-Türkiye format will allow the resumption of transport communications and many projects in the region, including the opening of the Zangazur corridor and the development of the North-South corridor, Kirill Semenov, a member of the Russian International Affairs Council and an independent expert on Middle East conflicts, told Report.
According to Semenov, this format will solve many regional problems, as well as eliminate tensions between Baku and Tehran.
The expert also believes that Türkiye and Iran have many points of contact that can be used as a tool to ensure peace in the South Caucasus.
"It is this format that will allow building a positive dynamic in relations and stepping over political obstacles that previously hindered. In general, the Turkish-Iranian links are very important both for the South Caucasus and the Middle East, including for restoring peace in Syria," concluded Semenov.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that Tehran "has a unanimous opinion with Ankara on restarting the Iran-Azerbaijan-Türkiye trilateral format."
