Fundraising continues in the West to purchase Turkish Bayraktar TB2 UAVs for the Ukrainian army, Report informs via Anadolu Agency.
Fundraising campaigns are being held in Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Canada and Ukraine.
In June, a campaign to raise funds for the purchase of Bayraktar TB2 was held in Ukraine itself. The manufacturing company Baykar Makina donated 3 Bayraktar TB2 UAVs to Ukraine, which were planned to be purchased with the raised money.
Earlier, Lithuanians raised 6 million euros in three days to purchase a Bayraktar TB2 drone for Ukraine. However, Baykar Makina offered to redirect the collected money for humanitarian aid to Ukraine, and gave the drone to Lithuania free of charge.
Campaigns to help Ukraine in European countries have also inspired Ukrainians in Canada. They raised over 12 million Canadian dollars instead of the expected 7 million Canadian dollars. The acquired Bayraktar TB2 is planned to be handed over to the Ukrainian army on August 24 - the Independence Day of Ukraine.
Recently, Baykar Makina announced that it would not sell its UAVs to Russia.
