Head of Intelligence Directorate of Armenian Armed Forces General Staff appointed

Colonel Samvel Movsisyan, deputy chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, has been appointed head of the same department, as well as Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Report informs referring to Sputnik-Armenia.

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturian signed the relevant decrees on January 25.

By another decision, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Arakel Martikyan has been relieved of the post of deputy chief of the general staff.

The head of the intelligence service was absent in Armenia for almost a year. Prior to this, the head of the intelligence department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces was Major General Arayik Harutyunyan, who was appointed to the post from August 2021 to February 2022.
