Int'l tribunal to be established to consider Russia's crimes against Ukraine

The international tribunal on Russia's attack on Ukraine will begin its work this year, Andriy Smirnov, deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said in an interview with Forbes, Report informs via UNIAN.

According to Smirnov, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine works to agree on the location of the tribunal, which countries will enter it and to whom the process will be entrusted.

The number of countries that will join the tribunal is not yet known. The European Parliament has already accepted the need to establish a special international tribunal.

Andriy Smirnov said that the tribunal's mandate will be to investigate Russia's crimes.

On May 19, the European Parliament supported the establishment of a special international tribunal to investigate war crimes committed by Russia and its allies against Ukraine. PACE also endorsed the idea.
