Iran will reconsider its agreements with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in light of its latest resolution, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said, Report informs referring to TASS.
“During the visit of a high-ranking Iranian delegation to Vienna, agreements were reached on constructive cooperation with the IAEA,” the Young Journalists Club quoted him as saying. “However, after the Board of Governors of the agency adopted its latest resolution, Iran will act in accordance with the changed conditions.”
“It is necessary to revise the existing agreements with the agency,” he noted. “The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran is already dealing with this issue and will take the necessary measures.”
On November 17, the IAEA Board of Governors adopted the text of a resolution on the NPT Safeguards Agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran. In this document, the agency called on Iran to urgently explain the origin of nuclear material previously found at its facilities and provide documentation and access to these facilities.
