Media: Armenian generals concerned about Pashinyan’s statement on war

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement in the parliament about the second Karabakh War caused concern among the army generals, Report informs, citing Zhoghovurd newspaper.

According to information, the generals discussed the post-war situation at a closed meeting. The newspaper says the generals are concerned about the launch of criminal cases against them.

Note that Pashinyan said at his speech in the parliament that the operations of the Armenian army in the 44-day war were insufficient and ineffective. He also said that no investigation team will be formed: “Everyone can perform their duties with confidence. However, they were instructed to discuss the mistakes and draw conclusions.”

However, the generals don’t trust Pashinyan. The officers fear that the situation will change soon and they will be brought to responsibility.

Armenia will hold early parliamentary elections on June 20. With such speeches, Pashinyan wants to subdue the generals and make them vote for him in the elections.
