Number of Azerbaijani citizens detained in Georgia revealed

The number of Azerbaijani citizens imprisoned in Georgia was 100 as of late August, Report informs, citing the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat).

According to the GeoStat, the number of detained Azerbaijani citizens has increased by one inmate since July. Eleven of them are accused, and 89 are convicted, two of whom are teenagers.

There are 28 Azerbaijani citizens on probation in Georgia. Twenty-five of them are men and three are women. Their number increased by one person compared to the previous month.

A total of 546 foreigners and stateless persons are being held in the Georgian prisons, while 234 foreign nationals are on probation.
