PM: Georgia sees unprecedented economic growth

The Georgian economy grew by 10.2% in the nine months of 2022, which is an unprecedented figure in all of Europe, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a government meeting, Report informs referring to Georgian media.

“Against the backdrop of current geopolitical challenges and tensions, we maintain high economic growth. For 9 months, economic growth in Georgia is 10.2%. This is unprecedented throughout Europe,” he said.

The country’s exports grew by 40%, and for 9 months the growth was 37.4%, and export revenues amounted to $4 billion.

“Tourism is recovering at a rapid pace. If we compare 2019, this year tourism has recovered by 97.5%. Revenues from this amounted to $2.5 billion,” Garibashvili said.

He added that such high economic growth will continue until the end of the year, and double-digit economic growth is expected by the end of the year.
