Political scientist: West not ready to send troops to Ukraine

Western countries are not ready to send the promised troops to Ukraine, and deploying armies to the territory of Ukraine is currently a difficult issue, Ukrainian political scientist Maksym Yali told Report.

According to him, the statements of the leaders of the relevant countries also testify to this.

Yali stated that the reason is the internal political situation in this countries, taking into account the risks of escalation against Russia and other factors.

The political scientist notes that the discussion about this continues:

"Perhaps, as a result of these discussions, France, Poland, and the Baltic countries will send their military instructors to Ukraine to train Ukrainian soldiers. This will probably be in an outside place. In all cases, this will have a serious impact on the combat effectiveness of the Ukrainian military and the situation at the front. But all this will not happen, for example, in the next 2 months. We will see what happens next."

He added that Ukraine seeks Western approval for strikes on targets in Russian territory. Of all partner countries, the US, Germany, and others have already greenlighted the move: "I think this issue will be resolved later. Everything depends on the future development of the situation at the front."
