Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will pay a two-day visit to Georgia in 2023 to participate in a joint intergovernmental meeting, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a joint press conference with his Hungarian counterpart in Budapest, Report informs via Georgian media.

The delegation led by Irakli Garibashvili is on a two-day visit to Hungary. On October 27, he and Viktor Orban signed a resolution on a strategic partnership.

Diplomatic relations between Hungary and Georgia were established on May 14, 1992. The countries cooperate in the fields of economy, trade, transport, tourism, education, and science. In order to deepen relations between Georgia and Hungary, the interstate commission on economic cooperation has been operating since 2013.

According to preliminary data, the trade turnover between Georgia and Hungary amounted to $42.4 million in the first three quarters of 2022. Hungary has made a direct investment of about $1 million in the economy of Georgia.
