The protesters, who gathered on the morning of September 16 in the center of Yerevan, demand the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Currently, the demonstrators have moved from the Republic Square towards the Armenian Parliament, Report informs with reference to Sputnik-Armenia.
One of the leaders of the Unity movement, Menua Soghomonyan, called on people to take to the streets and start peaceful actions of civil disobedience.
“Residents of the regions can block the buildings of regional administrations, and in Yerevan, you can block the entrances to the buildings of many state institutions, as well as the media that serve the authorities. It is desirable that all this be done in the morning to disrupt their work,” Soghomonyan said.
Large police forces have been pulled to the center of Yerevan.
