Relatives of the servicemen who went missing during the Karabakh war blocked the railway from Yerevan to Gyumri from the morning, disrupting the train traffic on this route and back, said the press secretary of the South Caucasus Railway (SCR) Ruben Grdzelyan.
Report informs, citing Armenian media, that, according to Grdzelyan, the representatives of the SCR, who are planning to open a train in Gyumri, get there themselves, as the passage on the electric train is blocked.
"The schedule of passenger transportation has been disrupted. Electric trains remain at the stations," Grdzelyan said.
The situation near the building of the Armenian Defense Ministry remains tense. The parents of the missing are trying to break into the defense ministry. They demand that Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan and the head of the General Staff Artak Dakvtyan meet with them.
Law enforcers are trying to reassure parents, but so far to no avail. Independent MP Sofia Hovsepyan is at the scene. She assured that a meeting is being held in the Moscow Region to find an optimal solution.
On Friday morning, the protesters saw a helicopter over the ministry building. Some of them believe that Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan could have taken off by helicopter or, on the contrary, arrived at the Moscow Region.
