The Armenian leadership often takes an ambiguous position on some issues, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a briefing held on August 2, Report informs.
She said that Armenia recognized Karabakh as the territory of Azerbaijan: "It is inappropriate for Armenia to ignore Russia's efforts now."
The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry also responded to the claims of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, regarding the Russian peacekeepers temporarily stationed in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan:
"It is well known that peacekeepers perform important functions. Is this activity really unnecessary and undesirable from the point of view of the Armenian leadership, and they want the peacekeepers to leave?"
Zakharova emphasized that Pashinyan's statements are completely incomprehensible.
