Situation with measles remains alarming in Armenia, health ministry says

The situation with measles remains alarming in Armenia, Svetlana Grigoryan, the Head of the Department of Immunology and Epidemiology for Manageable Infectious Diseases at Armenia’s National Center for Disease Control told Sputnik Armenia, according to Report.

She expressed serious concern about the situation with measles, noting that the country has not encountered this diseases since 2007 and it was considered fully eradicated. A total of 362 cases had been recorded in Armenia by April 2024. The disease affected 205 children and 157 adults. Most of those infected were either not vaccinated or did not receive the whole set of vaccines.
