Due to the refugee crisis, Turkish Airlines won’t accept citizens of Iraq, Syria and Yemen on flights to Minsk, excluding holders of diplomatic passports and those having a residence permit in Belarus, Report informs referring to the Russian media.
The EU believes that the leadership of Belarus deliberately attracts migrants from the Middle East to its country in order to send them to the border with the EU.
Over the current year, Polish border guards have prevented about 33,000 attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border. On November 8, the situation worsened when several thousand migrants approached the border and periodically tried to break through the barriers in large groups and enter Poland. In this regard, several EU countries in the UN Security Council requested to hold a meeting on the situation at the border.
Meanwhile, the Belavia airline announced that from November 12 it won’t be accepting the citizens of Iraq, Syria and Yemen, departing from Turkey.
The passengers of Belavia, falling under this ban, can make a full refund of the ticket price without deduction at the place of purchase.
