Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Önal paid a working visit to Georgia.
According to the local Bureau of Report, the delegation led by Önal and Georgian Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia held a meeting. The sides discussed topical issues of cooperation between the two countries and prospects for deepening the strategic partnership.
The Turkish side reaffirmed its strong support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. During the meeting, parties considered new realities, challenges, threats, and cooperation prospects in the region.
The meeting stressed that Georgia attaches great importance to economic projects in which both countries participate. The sides focused on the next meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Turkey and Georgia.
The meeting also touched upon issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic and stressed the need for mutual assistance and exchange of experience in this area.
Önal is scheduled to meet with the Georgian Foreign Minister on February 23.
