Ukraine sees record hike in COVID incidence since early 2021

Over the past day, Ukraine detected 15,053 coronavirus cases, a record high since early 2021, Report informs, citing the Ukrainian Health Ministry.

According to the ministry, the infection was diagnosed in 744 children and 425 health workers.

Over the past 24 hours, 4,376 people were hospitalized with COVID in Ukraine, while 6,514 people recovered from it. As many as 267 patients due to COVID-related health complications.

According to the ministry, the largest number of infection cases was registered in Zhytomyr (1,398), Lviv (1,092), Odesa (997), and Khmelnytsky (800) regions.

Over the past day, 1,092 people with COVID-19 have been identified in Kyiv.

Since the pandemic onset, Ukraine has recorded 1,504,076 coronavirus cases, 29,253 COVId-related deaths, and 1,244,190 recoveries.

Earlier Ukraine spotted a new coronavirus mutation, similar to the British strain, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
