President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will take part in a video conference of the leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) countries, which will be held on May 8, representative of the German government, Christiane Hoffmann, said at a briefing, Report informs citing TASS.
She explained that the main topic of the meeting will be dedicated to the events in Ukraine. “May 8 is the historic date for the end of World War II in Europe, which caused horror, destruction and death,” she said, adding that in the current situation in Ukraine, “the cohesion of the G7 is more important than ever.”
She called it “a very depressing circumstance” that two countries that suffered at one time from German aggression - Russia and Ukraine - are now in a state of conflict.
