In a message delivered to participants of the Global Summit of Religious Leaders in Baku, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia warned that the uncontrolled exploitation of natural resources, military conflicts, and the destruction of ecosystems could ultimately lead to the downfall of the entire human race.
According to Report, the Patriarch emphasized the urgent need for religious leaders to actively engage in addressing climate issues, given the immense scale of the threat. "Religious leaders must tirelessly remind people of the necessity to adhere to high spiritual and moral guidelines," he stressed.
Expressing hope that the united voice of traditional religious leaders gathered at the summit would be heard by decision-makers, Patriarch Kirill called for their contribution to the salvation of God's creation. "I wish you meaningful and fruitful discussions, success, and heavenly assistance in all your affairs and endeavors," he concluded.
