Azerbaijan is capable of making a significant contribution to the global dialogue between civilizations, Head of the Caucasus Muslims' Board (CMB) Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazada said at the 10th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations in Portugal, Report informs.
Pashazada emphasized that in the context of world polarization, rising xenophobia, and the threat of nuclear conflict, rebuilding trust becomes especially important.
He noted that this is necessary for creating a just and prosperous future.
The CMB head noted that ideas of peaceful coexistence, mutual understanding, dialogue and cooperation between civilizations, as well as multiculturalism are important for solving global problems.
He also spoke about Azerbaijan's restoration of liberated territories, where religious monuments, including mosques and temples, are being reconstructed, and demining work is being carried out.
Pashazada stated that Azerbaijan, with its unique experience of interfaith cooperation, can play a key role in the dialogue between civilizations.
He noted that to prevent conflicts and solve global problems, one should rely not only on international law but also on universal moral values.
