Coronavirus pandemic led to growth in gender violence, US Ambassador says

The growth in gender violence is observed worldwide due to the coronavirus pandemic, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger said, Report informs.

He expressed hope that representatives of the public sector, ministries, civil society, the international community will join efforts to tackle this critical issue. The diplomat added that he would be delighted to see men among them because they are the main chain in committing violence against women.

Baku is today hosting the 1st National Conference of First Aid Parties to Combat Gender-Based Violence.
