A shelter for stray animals has been opened in the Guba district.
According to Report, the refuge built outside the district center was named Faithful Friend.
The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the Guba District Executive Power Ziyaddin Aliyev, the chairman of the city municipality Humay Mammadova, the representative of the Azerbaijan Animals Protection Public Union Farid Mansurov, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Israeli Embassy in Azerbaijan Doron Pe'er, and journalists.
Homeless dogs are brought to the center and vaccinated against rabies and other diseases, as well as the ability to produce offspring is stopped by sterilization method.
Moreover, sick horses and other animals are taken care of here, and all conditions are created for this.
The center's clinic employs veterinarians and medical staff to examine and treat animals.
About 20 stray dogs have already been brought to the shelter.
