Azerbaijan elaborates a comprehensive report on health tourism 

A comprehensive report titled “Health tourism in Azerbaijan – current situation and development prospects” was prepared with the initiative and support of the State Tourism Agency (STA), Report informs, referring to the STA.

The document envisages the competitiveness of health tourism at a regional and global level based on comparative analysis.

The report reflects key destinations of health tourism such as Absheron, Shabran, Naftalan, Gabala, Lankaran, Shaki, Nagorno Karabakh, and Nakhchivan, health facilities, their services. At the same time, natural mineral resources and their districts have been included in the document.

The essence of health tourism, place of the health tourism in health on the basis of the statistical data of the WTO, features, and benefits of the health resources, which are specific for Azerbaijan, are also included in the report.

In the document, the experience of countries such as Turkey, France, South Korea, Costa Rica, Mexico, India, Canada, Albania, Philippines related to the incomes obtained from international travels and referred to the IMF’s data have been studied. Herein is statistical information about the general and clinical treatment costs of the tourists. Moreover, legal rules on the use of mineral waters, existing legislation, and activities of state bodies in this field have been considered.

Factors attracting tourists using health tourism, their expectations during therapeutic and recreational travels, and other factors have been analyzed.
Organization of marketing activity, creation of a brand, introduction of destination, pricing factors and parameters, and application of these factors are included in the document. The top ten hospitals around the world are also in the document.
