Azerbaijan receives 'Cultural Protection and Inheritance' award in China

Azerbaijan has been announced as the winner in the nomination Sustainability Awards 2022 - Cultural Protection and Inheritance held annually by China's Voyage Magazine, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijan Tourism Agency.

Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB), said that the sustainable development of tourism begins with the involvement of the material heritage of the destination, as well as the local population in the promotion of tourism.

He noted that the promotion of cultural heritage and sustainable tourism practices is one of the important priorities for ATB, and the institution is determined to continue its efforts in these directions. The Sustainability Awards 2022 is one of China's largest and most popular travel events.

The campaign's official hashtag reached more than 32,485,000 people during the campaign period.

Other winners include the National Tourism Organization of Serbia, the Spanish Tourism Institute (Turespaña), the Hong Kong Tourism Board, and the Italian National Tourism Board.
