Irish airline Ryanair, the largest low-cost airline in Europe, allowed non-paid passengers to check-in online only 24 hours before departure,
Earlier, for such travelers, the internet registration was opened 48 hours in advance.
The new rules apply to new bookings made after January 28, 2021. For older bookings, the old rules apply where check-in opens 48 hours before departure.
However, the registration closing time remained the same - 2 hours before the scheduled departure time. If a passenger has bought a ticket with seat selection enabled or paid for a seat in advance, he will be able to check-in and receive a boarding pass 60 days before departure.
Ryanair requires most passengers to check-in online and keep the system's boarding pass; otherwise, high fees apply.
For example, the check-in fee at the airport counter is €55 per passenger. If a passenger checked in online but did not keep the boarding pass, it will cost €20 to issue it at the airport.
