Shahab Shayan: Azerbaijan can use COP29 experience to strengthen sustainable tourism

Azerbaijan can adopt Dubai’s experience during COP29 and use it to strengthen sustainable tourism in the country, Shahab Shayan, Regional Director for International Operations in the Asia-Pacific region at the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department, said in an interview with Report.

“Dubai actively implements projects to ensure environmental sustainability in tourism. For example, preparations for COP28 included significant efforts to develop infrastructure and introduce environmentally responsible practices in the hotel and tourism sector. Azerbaijan can adopt these practices, especially during COP29, and strengthen sustainable tourism in the country. We are ready to provide comprehensive support in this process,” Shahab Shayan said.
