Sri Lanka plans to open borders for visitors next year

Sri Lankan authorities plan to open the borders for foreign tourists in January 2021, and travelers will receive six-month visas instead of one-month ones, Report says, citing Ceylon Daily News.

"The Sri Lankan government plans to allow international flights next month – for the first time since the borders were closed in March due to the pandemic. The rules of entry that tourists will need to follow are currently being discussed, " the document says.

In particular, travelers can get semi-annual visas instead of the usual one-month ones. You will need to stay in the country for at least 14 days, and have a PCR test for COVID-19 and insurance to enter. When applying for a visa, you should pay the visa fee and PCR tests, which will be carried out in five to seven days and, if necessary, 10-14 days after arrival. The visitors should also book a certified hotel for at least 14 days.
